📲 The big trap of social media

I admit that I too fell into this trap, and only got out of it yesterday...

Yes, it's quite embarrassing to say it like this, but let me explain.

On social media, we've become accustomed to one thing: volume.

But are we really sure that it's just a matter of spamming content every day in the hope that it will work? Well, until recently I would have said yes, but now I think I've come to a completely different conclusion.

Maybe we should focus more on content, create something better, something that really stands out from the flood of junk content we're bombarded with every day.

And guess what?

To do that, you need time.

🗃️ Volume is not always bad.

When I started working on my brand “PERSONA” just under two years ago, I set out with one idea in mind: to create three videos a day.

I know, that's a lot, and perhaps it was a slightly crazy approach for someone completely new to the world of video editing and online content creation, but after just four or five months...

Boom, I did it.

The profile gained 100k followers in just one month.

I had figured out the secret.

Here's what I had to do.

If you're completely new to the world of content creation, forcing yourself to create something every day is the BEST thing you can decide to do. The compound effect you'll get from this choice will be off the charts, and you'll improve at a faster rate than anyone else.

If you really want to learn a new skill, you need volume. And I believe that in the early stages, this is really the right choice.

🤔 So why “less is more”?

Creating too much content after your skills have reached a good level will no longer allow you to do anything good.

You will be destined to be mediocre, forgettable, just like everyone else.

To bring something that REALLY has quality and value, you need time to learn new things, to apply them, to be able to deliver the best we can achieve to our audience.

And it's not just about them, it's about ourselves. I saw videos and graphics by people with incredible skills that I didn't have time to practice because of all the posts I had to create. I was limiting my potential and not gaining anything from it.

If you want to do something that lasts, something that won't be forgotten after a scroll, you need to have the time to work hard on it. Once you've reached a certain level of skill, if you want to reach the next level, that of the true masters, the best artists and creatives we see everywhere, you need to focus on creating the best, not disposable content.

No one is interested in knowing who the CEO of the paper tissues you buy at Walmart is, but everyone is interested in knowing the story of people like Steve Jobs.

I don't want to create paper tissues, I don't want what I create to be used and thrown away after a few seconds.

I want to leave my mark.
